Quiet Life: Interview With Netanel Eyal, CEO & Co-Founder

QuietLife Technologies develops and applies noise-cancellation technologies in new ways, specifically to the problem of snoring. It is raising its Series A of funding.

Netanel Eyal

We had the opportunity to interview Netanel Eyal, the CEO & Co-founder of Israel-based QuietLife Technologies. The company, which made its first prototype in October 2015 and raised its first funding on Indiegogo, is in the process of raising its Series A funding.

Q. Netanel, would you tell us a bit about yourself and QuietLife Technologies?

I am the CEO & Co-Founder of QuietLife Technologies. I received my B.Sc. in computer engineering and applied physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. While at the Hebrew University I received the prestigious Peter Brojde award for my Bio-Sensing project. After graduating I joined the Hewlett Packard (HP) Honors Program for marketing, sales and management.

Q. Who came up with QuietLife Technologies and how did the concept of the company begin?

While in the HP Honors program after graduating from the Hebrew University, I started thinking about different ideas that could make an impact on the world. My goal was to use my knowledge of engineering and physics to create something new, innovative and exciting… and QuietLife Technologies was born.

Q. At what point did you realize you had a viable business model?

From the beginning my partner and I set out to research the snoring market to determine if there was a need for a noise cancelling snoring device. After realizing that there was nothing like this on the market, nor has there been anything to drastically innovate the snoring market in quite some time, we launched an Indiegogo (crowdfunding campaign). The goal was simple, to raise $40,000 in 60 days. If we hit that number, we felt it was sufficient proof that our product, which we called Silent Partner, was something that snorers and their partners needed. We hit our $40k goal within the first 7 days of launching and to date, we have done over $1.7M in pre-order sales.

Q. Can you tell us who your product, Silent Partner, would benefit most and why?

36% of adults between the ages of 35-60 years old suffer from snoring. Along with the snoring noise comes sleep deprivation and drowsiness for both the snorer and their partner. Current products addressing this problem are often intrusive, detracting from quality of sleep and are specific to given subsets of snorers (nasal snorers, mouth snorers, throat snorers). By tackling the noise itself, Silent Partner can be used by all types of snorers (who do not suffer from a medical condition which causes their snoring) providing both the snorer and their partner the quiet and restful sleep they need.

Q. Can you explain the functionalities of your product?

Silent Partner detects the snoring sound and emits a counter sound in real time which suppresses it. The result is a significant reduction of the noise and a better night sleep.

Q. When will Silent Partner be available to the retail buyer?

We are actively working on Silent Partner daily and plan to have it available at the end of this year.

Q. Are you looking for additional funding via a traditional capital raise and/or crowdfunding? If so, how can interested readers learn more?

We are currently in talks with both angels and VC’s regarding our Series A round of funding. To learn more about our company you can visit us online at http://quietlife.tech. To find out more details about our funding, please email [email protected]

Q. Where do you see QuietLife Technologies in 5 years?

In 5 years, we see QuietLife Technologies as a dominant force within both the snoring market as well as positioning ourselves for a strong break into the noise cancellation market. While Silent Partner is our first consumer product, it will not be our last. We have a variety of use-cases listed in our patent ranging from home noise cancellation to industrial noise suppression.

Q. If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of business/financial advice, what would it be?

To plan for success and to have a knowledge about entering the US market.

Q. Is there anything else you want to share with our audience?
If they are interested in Silent Partner and would like to pre-order one themselves, we are currently offering pre-sales via our website at: quietlife.tech/sale.
