Is it possible to social distance yourself without feeling isolated? As we hear more and more calls to socially distance ourselves from each other, many people still aren’t quite sure what that means. People are social creatures by nature, so calls for us to stay far away from each other are often met with disdain. Fortunately, social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation. You just need to make sure you are doing your part to flatten the curve.
Social distancing does not mean stay in your house forever and never talk to anyone. It does mean don’t go for a fun shopping spree and instead only go to the store for necessities as infrequently as you can manage. Social distancing doesn’t mean stop talking to people. It does mean call people on the phone instead of meeting up with them at a coffee shop and say hello to your neighbors from a safe distance.
