Companies can create products and pet-friendly policies that pamper pets while making it easier to bring customers to their store. There are nearly 393 million pets across the entire nation, bringing in $72 billion from American pet owners in 2018. It is obvious that people are more willing to spend their time and money when it comes to their pets, especially as they become valued as part of the family. As businesses cater to pets, they can build customer relationships while providing ways for those customers to build relationships with their pets.
With more than half of millennials finding it essential to eat with their pet, companies such as Starbucks, Dairy Queen, and In-N-Out have created treats specifically for customers’ pets. There are also stores that design products that were adapted from people-use to pet-use. Casper created a dog bed after noticing how much pups enjoyed their new mattresses. Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and Coach also provide designs for pets who are a bit more fashionable than the average fur-baby.
By adapting pet-friendly policies and welcoming customers’ four-legged family members, businesses are able to engage the community and attract employees as well as customers. Pet parents are willing to give up a lot for their pets, but they don’t always have to. Find out more about how businesses apply pet-friendliness here.
