Asian markets traded mostly higher in early trade on Friday as investors awaited the release of China's trade data later in the day.

US stock futures were largely flat on Thursday night as investors awaited the release of the closely watched July jobs report.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 282 points lower, and NSE Nifty is trading 31 points lower.

TCS, ONGC and M&M among the top gainers today.

Bajaj Finance, Trent and Maruti Suzuki on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading marginally lower.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today, with stocks in the banking sector and insurance sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the auto sector and power sector witnessed buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.25 against the US dollar.

LIC Q1FY27 Performance

Shares of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) reported a 23% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to Rs 134.9 bn in Q1FY27, driven by growth in premium collections and investment income.

Total premium income rose 6.7% YoY to Rs 1,270 bn. The growth was led by a 9% YoY increase in group business premium to Rs 518.3 bn, while individual premium income grew 5.5% YoY to Rs 754.2 bn.

Investment income increased 6.2% YoY to Rs 1,090 bn during the quarter.

The company's Value of New Business (VNB) surged 61.3% YoY to Rs 31.4 bn, while the VNB margin improved by 750 basis points to 22.9%. However, the margin declined on a sequential basis.

Assets Under Management (AUM) stood at Rs 59.39 trillion (tn) as of June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 57.05 tn a year earlier.

Crompton Greaves Q1FY27 Performance

Shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported a 15.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1.43 bn in Q1FY27, supported by price hikes across product categories and cost-efficiency measures.

Revenue from operations rose 11.8% YoY to Rs 22.35 bn, compared with Rs 19.98 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's EBITDA margin expanded by 20 basis points to 10%, despite inflationary pressures. Margin improvement was driven by disciplined pricing actions, operating leverage, and cost optimisation initiatives.

Total expenses increased 11.3% YoY to Rs 20.66 bn during the quarter.

Revenue from the lighting business grew 15.4% YoY to Rs 2.69 bn, reflecting healthy demand across the segment.

Apollo Tyres Q1FY27 Performance

Apollo Tyres reported a sharp improvement in its Q1FY27 performance, with revenue from operations rising 12.8% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 73.98 bn, compared with Rs 65.61 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 0.13 bn in Q1FY26, which was significantly impacted by a post-tax restructuring and impairment charge of Rs 2.73 bn related to its Netherlands plant.

Total expenses increased to Rs 70.12 bn during the quarter, up from Rs 61.71 bn a year earlier, reflecting higher operating costs alongside revenue growth.
