
Indian equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty50, ended slightly lower as investors await the outcome of the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee meeting, scheduled to be released on Friday.
At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex closed 14 points higher
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 11 points higher
Titan Company, ITC, and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers today.
Infosys, Tata Steel, and NTPC, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.
The GIFT Nifty was trading at 23,508 with 176 points higher at the time of writing.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.4% higher, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.6% higher.
Sectoral indices were trading mixed today, with the metal sector and the IT sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the oil & gas sector and power sector witness buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 95.7 against the US$.
Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.5% higher at Rs 1,59,318 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.1% higher at 2,63,257 per 1 kg.
NMDC Diversification Drive Fuels Major Investment Plan
According to media reports, NMDC plans to invest Rs 400-500 bn over the next three years to expand iron ore production, enter coal mining, and pursue critical mineral opportunities in India and overseas.
The company expects capital expenditure of around Rs 60 bn in FY27, increasing to Rs 90-100 bn annually thereafter. NMDC aims to raise iron ore production from over 53 million tonnes in FY26 to 60 million tonnes in FY27 and reach 100 million tonnes by the end of the decade.
The miner is also exploring overseas acquisitions, with planned investments of Rs 20-30 bn this year. Additionally, NMDC has approved a Rs 30 bn blending yard in Visakhapatnam and is advancing a 15-million-tonne slurry pipeline project expected to be commissioned by June-end or July.
ideaForge Gets Board Nod for Fundraising
The board of ideaForge has approved raising up to Rs 5 bn through various routes, including equity shares, preference shares, preferential allotments, private placements, qualified institutional placements (QIPs), or a combination of these methods.
ideaForge manufactures and sells unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems used in defence, security, homeland security, and enterprise applications such as mapping, surveillance, inspection, and surveying. The company also provides training and maintenance services for its drone systems.
Suzlon Unveils Ambitious FY31 Growth Roadmap
Shares of Suzlon Energy came into focus after the company unveiled its long-term growth strategy, aiming to achieve 10 GW of annual renewable energy sales and 70 GW of assets under management (AUM) by FY31.
The company said it is entering a new growth phase, branded as "Suzlon 2.0", with the goal of becoming one of the world's most integrated renewable energy companies.
By FY31, Suzlon plans to increase its annual renewable energy sales fourfold to 10 GW, expand its order book to 15 GW, and increase its AUM to 70 GW. The company expects this growth to be driven by a market share of around 40% in India's wind energy sector, export order intake of 3 GW, and a greater contribution from renewable energy development projects.
Suzlon operates as a full-stack renewable energy company, offering wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and energy management services under a single integrated business model.
