Nifty Above 23,250; Syrma SGS Technology Up 7%

Indian markets closed flat as the Nifty50 held above 23,250 following the US Fed meeting.

Although the benchmark indices opened flat, they traded volatile throughout the session and ultimately closed flat.

Indian equity benchmarks indices, Sensex and Nifty50 ended the session on a muted note as traders assessed the outcomes of the US Federal Reserve's policy meet.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex  closed 22 points lower

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 53 points higher (up 0.2%)

Tata Steel, Bharat Elec, Eternal are the top gainers today.

Titan Company, ICICI Bank, SBI on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The GIFT Nifty was trading at 23,313 with 46 points higher at the time of writing.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.8% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.9% higher.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed today with stocks in auto sector and metal sector witnessed buying. Meanwhile, stocks in oil & gas sector and banking sector witnesses selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.9 against the US$.

Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.8% lower at Rs 1,51,240 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.7% lower at 2,33,150 per 1 kg.

MDL Expands into Commercial Shipbuilding at Dighi

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has signed an MoU with National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park Maharashtra Limited (NSHIPML) to participate as the Anchor Shipyard in the proposed Greenfield Shipbuilding Industrial Cluster at Dighi, Maharashtra.

The planned world-class shipyard is expected to achieve an annual shipbuilding capacity of at least 1.2 million Gross Tonnage, supporting the construction of large commercial vessels and fostering a globally competitive maritime ecosystem involving ancillary industries, MSMEs, technology partners, and skilled employment.

The Dighi project marks MDL's strategic expansion beyond its established expertise in warships and submarines into large-scale commercial shipbuilding, supporting India's maritime ambitions under Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.


India's Semiconductor Push Keeps Syrma SGS Focused

According to media reports, Syrma SGS Technology's came into focus as investor attention increases around India's growing semiconductor sector.

SEMICON India 2026 has brought together companies, investors and policymakers from India and abroad. The three-day event focuses on key areas of the semiconductor industry, including chip design, fabrication, materials and advanced packaging.
