Asian stock market traded higher on Thursday as crude oil prices eased.

US stocks ended lower on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate for the first time in three years and signalled that further rate hikes could follow as it works to rein in persistently high inflation.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 195 points higher, and NSE Nifty is trading 71 points higher.

Bajaj Finance, Bharat Elec, M&M the top gainers today.

HCL Tech, HDFC Bank, Infosys on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.5% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.7% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with stocks in IT sector and energy sector witnesses selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in PSU Bank sector and power sector witnesses buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.9 against the US dollar.

Infosys Expands Technology Presence in Indore

Infosys has expanded its Indore Development Center in Madhya Pradesh by opening a new 330,000-square-foot Software Development Block at its Super Corridor campus.

Infosys' Indore center currently employs more than 3,300 people and supports global clients in sectors such as banking, retail, life sciences, and manufacturing. The expanded facility will focus on areas including cloud technology, software development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity.

The company also plans to work more closely with educational institutions such as IIT Indore, IIM Indore, and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya through skill-development programs and partnerships.

The new building follows green and energy-efficient standards. It includes low-energy cooling, smart building systems, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater recycling, along with modern workspaces, training areas, and wellness facilities.


Highway Infrastructure Bags Major Toll Contract

Highway Infrastructure has secured a Rs 2.20 billion (bn) contract from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.

Under the two-year contract, the company will manage the collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas, along with deploying four patrol-cum-safety vehicles and the required personnel.

The contract is a domestic order and includes Rs 1.05 bn for the first year, with a 10% escalation for the second year.
