Tata Consumer Products Q2 FY27 Results

Shares of Tata Consumer Products came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY27 results.

FMCG major Tata Consumer Products reported a 16% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) rise in net profit to Rs 4.69 bn in Q2FY27. Net sales grew 14% Y-o-Y to Rs 56.61 bn, driven by strong volume growth in its India business.

In India, the branded business recorded 11% volume growth, led by strong salt volumes. Growth businesses expanded 40% and accounted for 38% of the India business, the company said in a release.

Salt revenue rose 15%. However, tea volumes remained flat amid subdued category demand. Tea revenue declined marginally as the volume-value gap narrowed following pricing actions.

Tata Sampann recorded 57% revenue growth during the quarter, supported by strong volume growth, while the ready-to-drink business delivered 47% revenue growth.

The company attributed the broad-based growth across its portfolio to distribution expansion, premiumisation and a robust innovation pipeline.

Sigma Advanced Systems Secures Major Artillery Components Supply Order

Sigma Advanced Systems Ltd has secured an order worth USD 102.23 million (approximately Rs 9.73 bn) from a NATO customer to manufacture and supply Base Bleed (BB) Units. The order is scheduled to be executed over 12 months.

The order marks a key step in the company's plan to expand its presence across the 155 mm artillery ammunition manufacturing value chain. Sigma already manufactures 155 mm artillery shells and fuzes, and the addition of Base Bleed Units will further expand its product portfolio.

Base Bleed Units are components fitted to the rear of artillery shells to reduce air resistance and increase their firing range.

The order strengthens Sigma's position in the defence manufacturing sector and moves the company closer to manufacturing more components of complete 155 mm artillery ammunition in-house. This is expected to reduce dependence on external suppliers, improve supply-chain control and enable the company to offer a wider range of ammunition solutions.

The development also supports the company's focus on vertical integration and domestic defence manufacturing under the Government of India's Make in India initiative. With capabilities across artillery shells, fuzes and Base Bleed Units, Sigma aims to cater to growing demand for advanced artillery ammunition in domestic and international markets.
