Nasdaq futures soar triggering limits on nail-biter election

During the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple trading limits were triggered in stock futures to stem the fall of the market. However, back then the Chicago Mercantile Exchange had limits that only kicked in at 5%. This was updated last month to kick in at 3.5%.

Election market volatility is set to continue as votes are counted in the big battleground 'swing states.' The S&P 500 stock market index swung from deep losses to strong gains, while the US dollar index gapped lower before surging higher (SPX).
