By Timothy D. Naegele[1]
I met lots of very nice and interesting people there, along with two who tried to kill me[2]; a third one at a local church who is an ex-Marine and apparently served in combat and suffers from PTSD; and a fourth one in neighboring Fairfield, who hasn't been prosecuted yet.[3] I have never had this happen before; and I thank God each and every day that they have not been successful.[4]
The only road that is truly decent is state-funded highway 29. The rest are equal to or worse than those in third-world countries.[5] As federal funding of housing and food is interrupted or comes to an end, more people will become desperate, and angry. Violence may increase dramatically.[6] This may occur elsewhere in the country too.
We may be on the verge of the 2008 economic crisis repeating itself, which might be catastrophic for the small community of Napa and the nation as a whole.[7] There are "haves" and "have nots" in Napa, who may experience such an economic crisis quite differently. We live in a changing and unsettled world, to say the least.[8] Also, there is the issue of serious pollution in Napa.[9]
