Laffit A. Pincay, Jr.
Laffit Pincay began his career as a horseman on the Panamanian circuit and took to the professional racing environment incredibly fast, beginning his nearly 40-year career by winning his first eleven races. His main circuit was in the US and he won practically every major race the US calendar has to offer, with nine Hollywood Gold Cup wins and three consecutive wins in the Belmont Stakes. Over the course of his career, Pincay had 9,530 career wins and despite retiring in 2003, he’s far from disappeared from the racing scene.
Lanfranco 'Frankie' Dettori
Frankie Dettori is a household name in the UK and despite being born in Italy, his main circuit is in the United Kingdom. Dettori’s reputation preceeds him and over the course of his career, he’s won almost every major race on the British racing calendar. He’s one of the greatest jockeys of all time and he also once won seven out of seven races in a single day at the Royal Ascot Festival, unrivalled even to this day by any other rider.
Russell Baze
With over 10,900 career wins, Russell Baze is a US jockey who is still active in his career today, beginning his career back in 1974. Baze has incredible talent and was awards the Eclipse Special Award in 1995, based on him winning over 400 races each year for five years running. In 1999, he was inducted into the US Racing Hall of Fame and also won the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award in 2002.
Jerry D. Bailey
Jerry Bailey was born in the US and retired in 2006 with a collection of huge wins over the course of his career. He made it his mission to ride every prestigious race in his home country and also on the international circuit and he rode four winners at the Dubai World Cup, as well as achieving the coveted victory of the Prince of Wales’ Stakes in 2000. Bailey holds double victories in each of the America Classic Races too and won a total of 15 Breeders’ Cup Races.
Lester Piggott
Lester Piggott had 4,493 career wins and was dedicated to the sport, retiring very late at almost 60 years old. Piggott won nine runs of the Epsom Derby, an unrivalled achievement, as well as winning the Ascot Gold Cup a total of eleven times. He was also the youngest jockey to ride over 100 winners in just one season throughout his early career too. His signature race was the Epsom Derby and he also won the Irish Derby five times, among others in Germany.
