Tragically, our neighbors to the south are overrun and controlled by the drug cartels.[2] Years ago, they killed the wonderful son of long-time friends of mine at Rosarito Beach, where he had gone on a surfing trip; and they harvested his body parts.[3]
The cartels operate in other countries too. They are engaged in kidnappings, extortion, assassinations, prostitution, slavery, the trafficking of human body parts and deadly drugs like Fentanyl; and a whole host of other illicit activities that are being addressed by the Trump administration.[4]
Having grown up Los Angeles and spent much of my life in California, I recognized long ago that Hispanic-Americans are the heart and, yes, soul of the state. They constitute forty percent of the state's population; and they are everywhere.[5]
If I had a choice, I would eat Mexican food much of the time, but it is fattening. They are wonderful family-oriented Christian families, by and large; and I salute them.[6] But whether located in the USA, Mexico or other countries, they are victims of the cartels too, which must be fought at every level.[7]
