Stocks finished the session mixed, as the Dow bucked weakness in the chip sector while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq struggled to find momentum. Falling Treasury yields failed to provide much of a boost, as tech weakness and fresh economic updates from U.S. President Donald Trump held investor attention. Trump announced a 50% automotive levy on Canada set to take effect in January, while also revealing plans for the "toughest-ever" sanctions campaign against Iran. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude moved lower in response, while the 10-year Treasury yield was last seen at 4.7%.

Gold Hits Another 3-Month High
Crude prices fell after the U.S. announced sanction plans against Iran. September-dated West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil slid 2.5% to settle at $84.89 per barrel.
Gold futures tapped another three-month high as investors kept a close watch on yields. December-dated gold added 0.4% to settle at $4,697.80 for the day.
