Lots Of Us Would Never Vote For Trump Again

I am an Independent, which is the largest voting bloc in America.[2] I became one when I left the U.S. Senate, after seeing too much of both the Democrats and the Republicans.[3] I have never regretted that decision for a nanosecond. As July 4th approaches, and next year we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our magnificent nation[4], some of us have regrets about voting for Donald Trump three times.

The bloom has gone off the rose, which happens with most politicians. If we ever had a political "love affair" with a politician, it is easy to lose it. Perhaps I learned that most starkly when I realized how totally corrupt John F. Kennedy was. I had grown up in a "devoutly-Republican" family, but attended Kennedy's acceptance speech in the Los Angeles Coliseum, and became a Democrat because of him.[5]

In the case of Trump, my views about him changed when I realized fully that his "oath" to keep us out of foreign wars was nothing more than political folderol. He was lying from the get go; and I should have known better than to be sucked in by him.[6] He has "fed" the war in Ukraine, but even worse he has potentially driven us to the edge of an abyss, in the form of World War III.

By "marrying" Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Zionists of Israel, Trump has put our military, our nation and each of us in harm's way.

Do you want to fight World War III tomorrow, or have a loved one fight it? I was an Army Infantry officer during the Vietnam War, and friends of mine died for nothing. They were cannon fodder. In today's world, the next war may be like nothing most of us have ever envisioned.[8] We have enemies who want to destroy us; and it is surprising that they did not strike when "Comatose" Joe Biden was our titular President, and nothing more.

In the last election, we had a choice between Trump and Kamala Harris, after Biden bowed out. Knowing what I know today, I might not have voted. Harris was awful, but Trump has proven himself to be a liar and a traitor, who has put our great nation and every American at risk. He cannot be trusted; and every day his gargantuan ego is on full display.
