Large-Scale Feed Mill Design

VAA provided structural engineering and industrial architecture services for the development of a new high-capacity feed mill designed to support the client’s expanding customer base. Replacing an outdated facility, the new plant was engineered industrial engineering firm to produce up to 780,000 tons of feed annually, making it one of the largest feed mills in the state.

Working in partnership with Younglove Multidisciplinary Engineering Firm Construction, VAA delivered comprehensive structural and architectural design solutions for the facility. A key component of the project was the design of a slipform concrete process tower, which was successfully constructed in just seven days. VAA also engineered the facility foundations, structural steel floors, equipment support systems, and two 12-ton lorries that facilitate efficient material handling throughout the plant.

The new feed mill was designed to maximize operational efficiency and throughput, with the capability to load approximately 125 trucks per day. Safety Real Civil Engineer and convenience were also prioritized through design features that allow truck drivers to remain in their vehicles during loading operations, reducing exposure to moving equipment and improving overall site safety.

VAA served as the primary design full service engineering firm consultant for a new state-of-the-art poultry feed mill developed in partnership with the client and Vigen Construction. Designed to replace the existing on-site facility, the new mill utilizes advanced 3D modeling technology to optimize layout, coordination, and operational efficiency. The completed facility is capable of producing more than 15,000 tons of pelleted feed per week, supporting large-scale poultry production demands.

VAA provided comprehensive design services encompassing civil, structural, plumbing, HVAC, and building code review disciplines. The project included engineering firm marketing several major facility enhancements, such as a soft stock truck receiving system, steel grinding system, ingredient mill, feed loadout towers, and a 17,400-square-foot ancillary building housing liquid storage systems, boilers, and maintenance operations.

Safety and maintainability were central to the design. All bucket elevator legs were positioned outside the main structure to reduce operational risks, while pressure-relief venting was incorporated in critical areas to enhance facility safety. The design also minimizes dust accumulation by utilizing tube steel throughout the mill and loadout tower structures, reducing horizontal surfaces where dust can collect. Additionally, equipment layouts were carefully planned to provide ample access for maintenance, cleaning, and routine housekeeping.
