Is Mankind Doomed?

What's Life all about, Alfie?  This question has been asked before.[2]  Dionne Warwick asked it in a song by Burt Bacharach.[3]  Between new sophisticated weaponry[4], artificial intelligence (or AI)[5], and political chaos[6], the answer has become more complex than ever.  Is Mankind doomed, and must we accept the inevitable?

What do we tell our offspring and other loved ones?  God rules, and there is hope and reason for optimism.[7]  God didn't bring us this far, only to see Life blow up in smithereens.  But why don't we live forever, you might ask?[8]  Clearly, our ancestors begot us or we wouldn't be here today, reading these words.

We might have been snuffed out in an abortion, or Infanticide, but we weren't.  We might have died in a war or an auto accident, but we didn't.  We are blessed to have come this far.  Hopefully we have miles to go before we sleep.  And miles to go before we sleep, as the poet Robert Frost wrote.[9]

Will one or more loved ones be waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge?[10]  A beautiful sunlit sky at dusk, bright blue with pink clouds, tells us that God is alive.  Another person's words augur against loneliness.  A sense that God is with us, and we are blessed with freedom of speech, is nurturing.  God lives; nihilism is dead and buried; and we are alive!
