IonQ Inc. Posts Stellar Earnings, Shares Climb 23%

IonQ shares surged 23% as the company swung to a $563 million profit, driven by 335% revenue growth.

IonQ (IONQ) rebounded by 23.42 percent on Friday to close at $32.62 apiece, as investors took heart from its stellar earnings performance and higher revenue growth outlook for full-year 2026, thanks to strong backlog.

In an updated report, the quantum computing stock said that it swung to a net income of $563 million from a $1.055 billion net loss in the same period last year. Revenues surged by 335.9 percent to $173.8 million from $39.87 million year-on-year.

The third quarter marked IonQ Inc.’s sixth consecutive quarter of record results, and its strongest by far in history, thanks to the increasing demand for its quantum technologies and the benefits of its vertically integrated quantum manufacturing capabilities through SkyWater.

“Recent developments have provided meaningful validation of our technology and commercial strategy. We are deeply proud that IonQ is the only trapped-ion company to advance to DARPA Stage C. This final stage of DARPA’s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative includes a potential program value of up to $300 million,” IonQ Inc. Chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi said.

Encouraged by the results, the company raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $505 million to $515 million.

Quantum computing revenues alone are projected to soar by 110 percent year-on-year.
