The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield is approximately 4.59%, and with the U.S. holding an AA+ credit rating, it is widely considered one of the safest investments in the world. This yield is substantially higher than those offered by many other highly rated economies, including Switzerland (0.41%), Taiwan (1.68%), and China (1.73%).
Investors seeking higher yields among developed markets may find attractive alternatives in countries such as the United Kingdom and New Zealand, where government bond yields exceed those of the U.S. At the other end of the spectrum, lower-rated economies including Egypt and Turkey offer yields above 20%, reflecting the significantly higher credit and inflation risks investors assume in exchange for those returns.
