The markets are making some big moves following the US midterm elections, with gold and precious metals rallying, oil prices dropping sharply, and investors shifting money out of technology stocks. But are these moves the beginning of new trends, or just emotional reactions to the headlines? I recently joined Danny at CapitalCosm to break down what’s happening across stocks, precious metals, oil, and bonds. We also looked at the growing weakness in semiconductors and AI-related stocks, where heavy selling and declining momentum suggest that investors are becoming increasingly cautious.
One of the biggest points I emphasized during our discussion is that a strong one-day move doesn’t necessarily mean a trend has changed. Gold and silver miners are seeing renewed buying interest, but precious metals remain in a broader downtrend, while oil has fallen to an important support level within its existing uptrend. Meanwhile, money continues rotating away from technology and into more defensive areas of the stock market. These are important shifts to watch, but I believe the next several trading sessions will tell us much more about whether they have staying power. Watch the interview below as Danny and I examine the charts, discuss the risks and opportunities developing across the markets, and explain why following price action is more important than reacting to the latest headlines.
