Earlier this month, Litecoin founder Charlie Lee sold (or donated) all of his Litecoin.
And the thing you have to understand about Charlie’s decision is that it had nothing to do with this chart which shows that Litecoin’s recent gains have outpaced those logged by Bitcoin and Ethereum:

No, Charlie wasn’t cashing out at the top. He was just freeing himself up to tweet about Litecoin with a clear conscience – that according to a statement he posted on Reddit.
Of course you’d be forgiven for being a skeptical about Charlie’s “explanation” because after all, just 9 days earlier he tweeted this about the distinct possibility that Litecoin would plunge to just $20:
Well fast forward to this week and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin took to Twitter to post what certainly looks like an angry rant aimed at his own people who he accuses of trafficking in “lambo memes”:
This isn’t the first time the 23-year-old has chided the inhabitants of the cryptoverse. “I’m concerned a lot of these token models aren’t going to be sustainable,” Buterin said in an interview last month at the Ethereum Developers Conference in Cancun.
His Wednesday Twitter meltdown appears to echo the concerns of other crypto prophets who have recently warned that speculation and the myopic focus on riding the wave to the “lambo” paradise is distracting from the actual mission of digital currencies.
Specifically, he wants to talk a little more about starving Venezuelan miners and a little less about exotic sports cars:
As far as we can tell, he didn’t weigh in on Maduro’s plans to launch “the petro.”
There’s not much else we can add here other than to say that it isn’t entirely clear what “I WILL leave” means. That kind of seems like an empty threat. This horse has left the barn Vitalik. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle now.
And even if you could, would you really want to?
After all, everyone “was told there would be lambos”…
