Economic Events of the Coming Week - July 18, 2016

On Monday, July’s Rightmove house prices will be released in the U.K., an item prone to grab much more attention than usual, following the Brexit-vote.

Monday: July’s Rightmove house prices will be released in the U.K., an item prone to grab much more attention than usual, following the Brexit-vote. The earnings season also kicks into higher gear with Bank of America and Netflix releasing the second quarter’s earnings.

Tuesday: June’s CPI will see light in the U.K., with analysts expecting a 0.4% MoM gain. The month’s Producer Price Index will also be released. Linking the results here to the Brexit vote will be quite inevitable. In Russia, June’s Unemployment rate will see light, currently at 5.6%, as will the month’s retail sales data. The Goldman Saches and Microsoft will release the second quarter’s earnings.

Wednesday: Some labor market data due in the U.K., including Jobless Claims and Unemployment rate, the latter standing at a fairly moderate 5%. The Advance July Consumer Confidence data will be released for the Eurozone. In the U.S., the weekly MBA Mortgage Applications will see light. Second quarter’s earnings to be announced by Morgan Stanley, Intel and eBay.

Thursday: In Japan, May’s All Industry Activity Index will see light. Following the release of some June Retail Sales data in the U.K. The ECB is scheduled to make a rate announcement, where, following the BoE’s ‘unchanged’ has expectations on seeing Draghi keep things fairly stable. In Russia, June’s Existing Home Sales data will see light, as will June’s Leading Index data. PayPall will announce Q2’s earnings.

Friday: Preliminary July data on the Nikkei Purchasing Mangers’ In Japan will see light. Preliminary July Markit PMIs throughout the Eurozone will likely be more interesting than usual, for obvious reasons. The preliminary Markit Purchasing Managers’ Index will also be released in the U.S.
