
Stocks were a choppy bunch Tuesday, as the 30-Year Treasury yield climbs to 5.61%, its highest level since June 2002. Banks stocks were a sore spot, with notable declines from JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Morgan Stanley (MS), and Bank of America (BAC). The Dow lost 131 points while the S&P 500 and Russell 2000 (RUT) both finished firmly lower, with all three indexes logging their fifth loss in the last six sessions. The tech-heavy Nasdaq eked out a win.



Oil Prices Stay Low as Gold Climbs Back
Oil prices continued lower Tuesday., with export numbers recovering well at Saudi Arabia's Red Sea ports. West Texas Intermediate crude shed 3.5% cents to settle at $89.38 per barrel.
Gold prices were higher Tuesday, though fears of the Fed tightening monetary political kept gains in check. December-dated futures gained 0.5% to settle at $4,189.60 per ounce.
