Dow, Nasdaq Up Triple Digits As Energy Stocks Surge

The Dow and Nasdaq jumped triple digits as investors navigate geopolitical tensions ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) and Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) are up triple digits this afternoon, as Wall Street starts to steady itself amid a flurry of geopolitical instability. Investors are brushing off rising oil prices and weighing the latest U.S.-Iran war headlines, with Iran security chief Ali Larijanid reportedly killed in a strike, per Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz. The S&P 500 (SPX) is also confidently higher, as investors turn their attention towards the Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting kicking off later today.

Kenvue Inc (NYSE: KVUE) is one of the most heavily traded stocks in the options pits today, with 24,000 calls across the tape so far -- volume that is eight times the amount usually seen at this point. The most popular contract is the March 17 call, while new positions are being bought to open at the June 18 call. KVUE was last seen up 1.3% to trade at $17.95, eyeing a third-straight gain. Longer term, the equity still carries a 23.5% year-to-date deficit.

Expedia Group Inc (Nasdaq: EXPE) stock is among the SPX outperformers today, up 5.8% to trade at $244.82 at last check, on track for a third consecutive gain. EXPE kicked off 2026 with a Jan. 9, all-time high of $303.80, but has taken a 19% haircut since. Year-over-year, the travel stock is up 47%. 

J B Hunt Transport Services Inc (Nasdaq: JBHT) stock is down 1.7% to trade at $199.22 at last glance, pacing for a fifth loss in six sessions and earlier slipping to their lowest level since January. The shares hit a record high of $236 on March 2, but are now testing support at their 100-day moving average. In the last 12 months, JBHT is up 33.1%.
