A portfolio of stocks I've been building since September 3, 2019, named Volio, will eventually hold 52 dividend dogs. Volio is the fifth portfolio I've built (at a one dividend dog per-week pace) since 2014. Five portfolios = V for Volio!
Today I'm reviewing the third of five technology sector stocks poised to join my Volio folio this week. One could be my forty-second pick for Volio!
That technology sector includes nineteen industries ranging from communication equipment, computers, consumer electronics, and contract manufacturing, to health, information technology and services, to internet, scientific instruments, software, solar, and all such techno-marvels.
My subject today is a large cap semiconductor outfit named, Maxim Integrated Products Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is MXIM. This is my second report this year on Maxim Integrated Products Inc. for this Volio portfolio. My previous report aired on April 3.

The company offers a wide range of products serving a host of analog-intensive applications, including power management, audio conversion, and sensors.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like Maxim Integrated Products Inc (MXIM):
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those three basic keys best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.
MXIM Price
Maxim's price per share closed at $59.85 yesterday. A year ago their price was $55.74. Price rose $4.11 or about 7.4% last year.
Assuming Maxim's stock trades in the range of $35 to $70 this next year, its recent $59.85 price might rise by $5.15 to reach $65.00 by June 17, 2021.
MXIM Dividends
Maxim's most recent declared semi-annual dividend was $0.48 payable, June 12th. That $0.48 Q dividend equates to $1.92 annually and yields 3.21% at yesterday's $59.85 share price.
MXIM Gains?
Adding the $1.92 annual estimated dividend to my $5.15 optimistic estimate of Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (MXIM) price upside shows a $7.07 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade the shares.
If we put little over $1,000.00 today in Maxim Integrated Products Inc we would buy 17 shares of MXIM stock.
A $10 broker fee paid half at purchase and half at sale could cost us about $0.59 per share.
Subtract that $0.59 brokerage cost from my estimated $7.07 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $6.48 X 17 shares = $110.16 for an 11.00% net gain on a $1,017.45 investment.
Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (MXIM) shows a possible 11.00% net gain including a 3.21% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.
The above speculation is based on past performance and supposition. Only time and money invested will tell if
Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (MXIM) is worth it.
