Current Report: UPM-Kymmene Might Gain 9.7% In 2026

The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.

UPM-Kymmene Oyj (UPMMY) manufactures and sells fibers, paper, plywood, biochemicals, and zero-carbon electricity. 

Three key data points gauge UPMMY (or any dividend-paying entity):

UPMMY Price

UPM_Kymmene’s single share price dropped $1.25 (or about 4,5%) from $27.67 to $26.42 in the past year, per Monday’s opening market report.

One analyst covers the stock and set a target price at $6.53 above Monday’s opening. However, the UPMMY past ten-year price history shows an average $0.81 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return after I discuss dividends.

UPM-Kymmene has paid variable annual dividends since July 1997 with no Covid-year pauses. Then, in 2023, semi-annual dividends began.  The latest SA amount of  $0.88 was paid May 5th (to shareholders on record as of April 13th), and the resulting $1.77 annual payout yields 6.70% (per Monday’s opening market report.}

UPMMY Returns

Putting it all together, as of July 1st, a possible gross gain of $2.58 was projected. The $0.81 per share historic annual gain was added to the $1.77 forward-looking annual dividend to equal a $2.58 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in UPMMY at Monday’s $26.42 opening share price would buy 38 shares which multiply the $2.58 gross gain to $97.65 for the coming year, or about 9.77%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

UPMMY’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $67.00. So UPM-Kymmene Oyj shows a dividend from $1,000 invested over 2.5 times greater than its $26.42 recent single share price.

The exact track of UPMMY’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
