The company was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Markham, Canada.

Sienna Senior Living, Inc. (LWSCF) owns and manages seniors’ living residences.

It offers independent living, assisted living, long-term care, and specialized programs and services.

Three key data points gauge LWSCF (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

LWSCF Price

Sienna’s single share price climbed up $4.68 (or about 38.4%) from $11.68 to $16.16 in the past year, per Tuesday’s morning market report.

No analysts cover the stock. So a one-year price target is not available. However, three years of price history show an average  $2.55 annual price gain, which I’ll use to calculate returns after I discuss dividends.

LWSCF Dividends

Sienna Senior Living has paid monthly dividends since May, 2010.  The most recent M dividend of $0.0567 is payable  June 15 (to shareholders on record as of May 29), equating to a forward annual payout of $0.68, yielding 4.21%

LWSCF Returns

Putting it all together, as of May 19, a possible gross gain of $3.23 was projected. The $2.55 per share annual gain was added to the $0.68 forward looking annual dividend.

A little over $1000 invested in LWSCF at Tuesday’s $16.16 opening share price would buy 62 shares, which multiply the $3.23 gross gain to $200.05 for the coming year, or 20.00%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is more than the cost of one share.

LWSCF’s annual dividend from $1K invested is $42.10. So LWSCF shows a dividend from $1,000 invested about 2.6 times its $16.16 single share price of Tuesday.

The exact track of LWSCF’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
