Current Report: Sanofi Poised To Pop 7.6% Or More By 2027

The company was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Paris, France.

Sanofi (SNY) researches, produces, and distributes pharmaceutical products through its Biopharma segment.

Three key data points gauge SNY (or any dividend-paying entity):

Sanofi’s single share price dropped $2.91 (or about 6%) from $47.93 to $44.12 in the past year, per Wednesday’s opening market report.

Ten analysts cover the stock. And their consensus suggests the price will grow $10.94 in the coming year. However, the SNY past sixteen-year price history shows an average $0.93 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return, after I discuss dividends.

Sanofi has paid variable annual dividends since June 2003. The most recent dividend of $2.42 was paid June 3rd (to shareholders of record May 4th, yielding 5.54% annually (per Wednesday’s opening market report)

Putting it all together, as of July 22nd, a possible gross gain of $3.35 was projected. The $0.93 per share historic annual gain was added to the $2.42 forward-looking annual dividend to make that $3.35 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in Sanofi at Wednesday’s $44.12 opening share price would buy 23 shares, which multiply the $3.35 gross gain to $75.93 for the coming year, or about 7.59%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

Sanofi’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $55.40. As Sanofi shows, an annual dividend from $1,000 invested at a $44.12 price proves to be $11.28 or about 25.5% more than its recent single share price.

The exact track of SNY’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
