This company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

PEYUF explores, develops, and produces oil and natural gas. Its operations include deep basin, marketing, and reserves.

Three key data points gauge PEYUF (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

PEYUF Price

Peyto’s single share price climbed over 33% in the past year, from $13.60 to $18.12 per Tuesday’s opening market report.

Ten analysts cover the stock, and the median of their one year target price estimates projected a $11.93 annual price gain. However, the average of PEYUF’s past five year price progression from  $5.35 to $18.12 shows an average annual gain of about $2.55.

So, by averaging the analyst-estimated annual $11.93 price upside against the $2.55 five year annual average performance gives a $7.24 annual gain estimate, which I’ll use for the coming year’s returns, which must include the annual dividends, too.

PEYUF Dividends

Peyto has paid variable Monthly dividends since May 2003. The most recent monthly dividend of $0.09 (equating to $1.08 annually) is payable September 15th, 2026 (to shareholders of record August 31st), yielding 5.73% annually (per Tuesday’s opening market report)

PEYUF Returns

Putting it all together, as of August 31st, a possible Peyto Corp gross gain of $8.32 was projected.

To get there, our $7.24 per share averaged annual gain was added to the $1.08 presumed forward-looking annual dividend to make that $8.32 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in PEYUF at Tuesday’s $18.12 opening share price would buy 55 shares, which multiply the hypothetical $8.32 gross gain to $457.60 for the coming year, or 45.76%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

PEYUF’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $57.30 and that annual dividend proves to be over 3 times more than its recent $18.12 single-share price.

The exact track of PEYUF’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
