This company was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Findlay, OH.

MPLX LP (MPLX) operates midstream energy infrastructure and logistics assets, and provides distribution fuels services through two segments: (1) Crude Oil and Products Logistics and (2) Natural Gas and NGL Services.

Three key data points gauge INSW (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

MPLX Price

MPLX’s single share price climbed near 17% in the past year, from $50.87 to $59.42 per Monday’s opening market report.

Thirteen analysts cover the stock and the median of their five year target price estimates projected a $2.87 annual price gain.

However, the average of MPLX’s past five year price progression from  $28.27 to $59.42 shows an average annual gain of about $6.23.

So, by averaging the analyst estimated annual $2.87 price upside against the $6.23 five year annual average performance gives a $4.55 annual gain estimate, which I’ll use for the coming year’s returns which must include the annual dividends, too.

MPLX Dividends

MPLX has paid variable Quarterly dividends since May 2013. The most recent Q dividend of $1.08 (equating to $4.32 annually) was paid August 14th, 2026 (to shareholders of record August 7th) yielding 7.27% annually (per Monday’s opening market report.)

MPLX Returns

Putting it all together, as of August 31st, a possible gross gain of $8.87 was projected.

To get there, our $4.55 per share averaged annual gain was added to the $4.32 presumed forward-looking annual dividend to make that $8.87 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in MPLX at Monday’s $59.42 opening share price would buy 17 shares which multiply the hypothetical $8.87 gross gain to $149.28 for the coming year, or 14.93%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

MPLX’s  projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $107.60 and that annual dividend proves to be near 2 times more than its recent $59.42 single-share price.

The exact track of MPLX’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
