The company was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Seongnam-si, South Korea.

KT Corporation (KT) provides telecommunications, information and communications services through its  ICT, Finance, Satellite Broadcasting, Real Estate, and Others segments.

Three key data points gauge KT (or any dividend paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

KT Price

KT Corp’s single share price dropped $1.69 (or about 8.4%) from $20.19 to $18.50 in the past year, per Friday’s closing market report.

No analysts cover the stock.

However, the average of the past six year price progressions shows an average annual gain of $1.43, which I’ll use for the annual return, after I discuss KT dividends.

KT Dividends

KT Corp has paid variable Annual dividends since May 2000. A most recent Quarterly dividend of $0.20 was paid June 18 (to shareholders of record May 27th, yielding 4.24% annually (per Friday’s closing market report.)

KT Returns

Putting it all together, as of August 7th, a possible gross gain of $2.23 was projected. The $1.43 per share average annual gain was added to the $0.80 forward looking annual dividend to make that $2.23 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in KT at Friday’s $18.50 closing share price would buy 54 shares which multiply the $2.23 gross gain to $120.54 for the coming year, or 12.05%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

KT’s  projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $42.40. KT shows an annual dividend which proves to be just about 2.3 times  the recent $18.50 single-share price.

The exact track of KT’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
