The company was founded in 1966 and is headquartered in Hannover, Germany.

Hannover Ruck SE (HVRRY) provides reinsurance services. It operates through the Property and Casualty Reinsurance and Life and Health Reinsurance segments.

Three key data points gauge HVRRY (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

HVRRY Price

Hannover Ruck’s single share price dropped $4.95 (or 9.5%) from $52.27 to $47.32 in the past year, per Monday’s opening market report.

No analysts cover the stock. However, the HVRRY past three-year price history shows an average $4.41 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return after I discuss dividends.

HVRRY Dividends

Hannover Ruck has paid variable annual and sometimes semi-annual dividends since May 2007 without pause in the COVID years.  The latest annual amount of  $2.45 was paid May 21st (to shareholders on record as of May 8th), yielding 5.18% (per Monday’s opening market report)

HVRRY Returns

Putting it all together, as of July 6th, a possible gross gain of $6.86 was projected. The $4.41 per share historic annual gain was added to the $2.45 forward-looking annual dividend to equal a $6.86 gross gain.

A little under $1000 invested in HVRRY at Monday’s $47.32 closing share price would buy 21 shares which multiply the $6.86 gross gain to $144.97 for the coming year, or about 14.5%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

HVRRYs projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $51.80. So Hannover Ruck shows a dividend from $1,000 invested at $47.32 is about 10% greater than its recent single share price.

The exact track of HVRRY’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
