This company was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Billings, MT.

First Interstate BancSystem Inc (FIBK) provides community banking solutions to individuals, businesses, municipalities, and other entities.

Three key data points gauge FIBK (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

FIBK Price

First Interstate BancSystem’s single share price climbed over 16.25% in the past year, from $32.55 to $37.85 per Friday’s closing market report.

No analysts cover the stock. However, the average of FIBK’s past three year price progression from  $25.14 to $37.85 shows an average annual gain of about $4.24, which I’ll use for the coming year’s returns and must include annual dividends, too.

FIBK Dividends

First Interstate BancSystem has paid variable Quarterly dividends since October 2010. The most recent Q dividend of $0,47 (equating to $1.88 annually) was paid August 14th, 2026 (to shareholders of record August 4th), yielding 4.97% annually (per Friday’s closing market report.)

FIBK Returns

Putting it all together, as of September 4th, a possible First Interstate BancSystem gross gain of $6.12 was projected.

To get there, our $4.24 per share annual gain was added to the $1.88 presumed forward-looking annual dividend to make that $6.12 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in FIBK at Friday’s $37.85 closing share price would buy 26.42 shares which multiply the hypothetical $4.24 gross gain to $112.02 for the coming year, or 11.20%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

First Interstate BancSystem’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $49.70, and that annual dividend proves to be over 1.3 times more than its recent $37.85 single-share price.

The exact track of First Interstate BancSystem’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
