The company was founded in 1944 and is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bangkok Bank PCL (BKKLY) provides commercial banking services, operating through four segments: (1) Domestic Banking, (2) International Banking, (3) Investment Banking, and (4) Others.

Three key data points gauge BKKLY (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

BKKLY Price

Bangkok Bank’s single share price increased $6.72 (or 30%) from $22.44 to $29.16 in the past year, per Thursday’s closing market report.

No analysts cover the stock. However, the BKKLY past two-year price history shows an average $5.31 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return; after I discuss dividends.

BKKLY Dividends

Bangkok Bank has paid variable semi-annual dividends since October 2012 without pause in Covid years.  The latest annual amount of  $1.semi-annual amount was paid May 36th (to shareholders on record as of April 23rd) yielding 8.42% (per Thursday’s closing market report.)

BKKLY Returns

Putting it all together, as of July 2nd, a possible gross gain of $7.76 was projected. The $5.31 per share historic annual gain was added to the $2.45 forward-looking annual dividend to equal a $7.76 gross gain.

A little under $1000 invested in BKKLY at Thursday’s $29.16 closing share price would buy 34 shares which multiply the $7.76 gross gain to $266.12 for the coming year, or about 26.6%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

BKKLYs projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $84.20. So, Bangkok Bank shows a dividend from $1,000 invested over 2.75 times greater than its $29.16 recent single share price.

The exact track of BKKLY’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
