The company was founded in 1792 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Akzo Nobel NV (AKZOY) manufactures and markets coating and paint products.

Three key data points gauge AKZOY (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

AKZOY Price

Akzo Nobel’s single share price dropped $0.49 (or about 2%) from $23.29 to $22.80 in the past year, per Friday’s closing market report.

Two analysts cover the stock and set a median target price at $5.05 above Friday’s closing. However, the past two-year price history shows an average $1.13 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return after I discuss dividends.

AKZOY Dividends

Akzo Nobel has paid variable semi-annual dividends since May 1998 with no Covid year pauses. The recent SA dividend of $0.60 was paid May 13th (to shareholders on record as of April 28th) and that annual payout yields  5.29% (per Friday’s closing market report.}

AKZOY Returns

Putting it all together, as of June 26th, a possible gross gain of $2.34 was projected. The $1.13 per share historic annual gain was added to the $1.21 forward-looking annual dividend to equal a $2.34 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in AKZOY at Friday’s $22.80 closing share price would buy 44 shares, which multiply the $2.34 gross gain to $102.63 for the coming year, or about 10.26%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

AKZOYs projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $52.90. So Akzo Nobel shows a dividend from $1,000 invested over 2.3 times greater than its $22.80 recent single share price.

The exact track of AKZOY’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
