Consumption Outpaces CPI

U.S. consumer spending is surging past the Consumer Price Index, with consumption growth nearly doubling inflation in key sectors.

While inflation remains a major concern, consumer spending has been rising even faster than the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In some cases, spending growth has outpaced inflation by nearly double.

Inflation impacts U.S. households, yet overall consumption trends suggest that Americans continue to increase their spending beyond price increases. Regardless of who is driving the gains, the broader pattern is clear: spending growth is exceeding inflation.
