What are Circular Looms?
Circular looms are industrial weaving machines designed to produce tubular fabrics by interlacing warp and weft threads in a circular motion. Unlike flat looms that produce flat fabrics, circular looms create seamless tubes ideal for manufacturing bags, hoses, and technical textiles. These machines feature multiple shuttles (typically 4, 6, or 8) that move simultaneously around a circular track, weaving yarns—usually polypropylene, polyethylene, or polyester—into tubular fabric at high speeds.
Modern circular looms have evolved significantly from their traditional counterparts. While basic models from the 1980s operated at 100-150 RPM (revolutions per minute), today's automated systems achieve 250-350 RPM, with some high-speed models reaching 450 RPM. This translates to production rates of 150-300 bags per hour, depending on the number of shuttles and material thickness.
