CBD And The Potential For Treating Chronic Pain

CBD might be the next big breakthrough in modern medicine.

A little over a decade ago in 2005, the FDA released a warning stating the relation between non-aspirin NSAIDs and heightened risk of heart attack and stroke. Following the original warning on NSAIDs, the FDA doubled down on these risks ten years after to include more complications at higher doses and from prolonged use, leaving many people looking for a better alternative.

Today, NSAIDs remain the most popular treatment options for chronic pain, in spite of the shocking correlation revealed by the FDA, but what if there was a different option for managing chronic pain? CBD, or cannabidiol, has shown mounting evidence to be powerful tool in for combating inflammation, pain, and wide array of other conditions. Compared to NSAIDs, CBD not only effectively treats pain and inflammation, it also has fewer and less severe side effects, and doesn’t cause the user to build up a tolerance. Interacting with our body’s very own endocannabinoid system, the plant-based cannabinoids can trigger the same receptors and play a key role in treating painful conditions as naturally as possible.

One in five Americans are living with chronic pain - are NSAIDs still the only option? Take a look at this infographic for more detail on the science behind CBD, its differences between traditional pharmaceutical treatments, and how it works to manage chronic pain from within.
