Catching Up On Commitment Of Traders, Futures, Positions

The CFTC has now caught up as far as the futures positions of non-commercials as of February 5, 2019.

The following futures positions of non-commercials are as of February 5, 2019.

Beginning December 21, the CFTC was not able to publish reports on time due to the partial shutdown of the federal government, which has now reopened.  The CFTC expects to publish one report on Tuesday and another on Friday of each week until the reports are current as per the normal schedule.  Two more reports are due.  Until then, we will only present the charts below, but not commentaries.

10-year noteCurrently net short 163k, up 28.5k.

30-year bondCurrently net short 33.8k, up 16.9k.

Crude oilCurrently net long 414.3k, down 12.3k.

E-mini S&P 500Currently net short 116.2k, up 93k.

EuroCurrently net short 52k, up 5.5k.

GoldCurrently net long 109.1k, up 9.5k.

Nasdaq 100 index (mini)Currently net short 23.5k, up 5k.

Russell 2000 mini-indexCurrently net short 38.2k, up 13.1k.

US Dollar IndexCurrently net long 30.8k, down 236.

VIXCurrently net short 38.6k, up 16.5k.
