Cannabis Central: Pot Stock Index Continued To Advance On Friday

Friday was the third consecutive day that the Pure-Play Pot Stock Index has gone up.  All three industry categories went up as well.

Friday was the third consecutive day that the Pure-Play Pot Stock Index has gone up. All three industry categories went up as well. Details are as follows:

Index Performance

The Index was up 2.4% on Friday on top of a 4.7% increase on Wednesday and a 9.3% increase on Thursday causing the Index to increase by 15.4% for the week.  

The Index has companies doing business in a number of different categories and sub-categories based on their primary area of focus in the cannabis industry. These categories are identified below along with those stocks within each category that went up by 5% or more:

  1. The Vertically Integrated (i.e. Seed-to-Sale) Category has 22 index constituents that grow, process, and sell cannabis and hemp flower and related products and it was up 2.1%.
    1. the Canadian Licensed Producer (LPs) has 7 index constituents and it went up 0.8%, on average, but none did so by 5% or more.
    2. the U.SMulti-State Operator (MSOs) Category has 13 index constituents and it went up 2.4%, on average, with the following constituents within the category going up by 5% or more:
    3. The hemp seed-to-sale MSO sub-category has two index constituents and it went up 17.2%, on average, with both constituents going up in excess of 5% as follows:
      • cbdMD (YCBD) +25.8%
      • Charlotte's Web (CWBHF) +11.7%
  2. The Extraction Category has two index constituents focused on the extraction of cannabis compounds and their infusion into consumer products and it went up 6.3%, on average, with both constituents going up in excess of 5% as follows:
  3. The Consumption Devices Category has only one index constituent  focused on developing and selling personal consumption devices for cannabis consumers, such as vape pens and inhalers, and it went UP as follows:
    • Greenlane (GNLN) +17.1%
