Australian Importing of Electronic Goods Still Weak as Value of Australian Dollar Refuses to Budge Enough

It has not been a strong year for the Australian dollar. In fact, it has been a downright rough couple of years for the Australian dollar. 2019 saw the impending movements of some fresh initiatives that were set with the hope of assisting the Australian dollar (and, in the process, the economy) to experience positive reinforcements. In September, the Australian economy ballooned by 0.4%. Of course, this is still below average, but any growth is rightfully considered to be a step (or two) in the right direction. For a moment, there seemed to be some hope that this shop would begin to right itself. And then that hope ended. This is such an intriguing time for the Australian dollar, and it is a time that is likely (if not certainly) going to prove to be instrumental in the future of the Australian dollar and the Australian economy going forward from here on out, into the foreseeable future.

Essentially, if the economy grows more significantly, Australia will allow the importation of more goods into the land down under. That is a positive because it signals that we are investing in our country’s economy once again without fear or prejudice holding us back. Of course, the nature of the Australian dollar (and any foreign currency also, for that matter) is that it is constantly subject to rises and falls in response to the current position of the foreign exchange market at any given time. Just yesterday, the Australian dollar felt the slight yet hopeful rise on the FOREX market, but even so, it is not a rise that is significant enough to deter concern and ignite true and lasting hope moving forward.

The Australian dollar – and, in turn, the Australian economy – has suffered from all different types of unfortunate circumstances and frustrating movements this year. 2019 has been a year of uncertainty and unease regarding the position of the Australian dollar. Heading into 2020, we must hope that there are more profitable and stable standing on the horizon. Just because it is a tough time for the Australian dollar right now, does not mean that it has to be a tough time for the Australian dollar always. Change does not happen overnight. All anyone can do is hope for the best and do what we can to impact the current position of the economy.
