Anti-Semitism

I grew up in Los Angeles, and have had Jewish friends as long as I can remember.  They were kids in my neighborhood near UCLA's campus, against whom I shot hoops as we played street basketball.  They were classmates beginning in elementary school.  They were my fraternity brothers in college, as members of America's largest college fraternity.

One ran our chapter's alumni association; and he was a prince.  I can say with pride that there was never any discrimination, or thought of it.  None were immigrant Jews, or the children of immigrant Jews, to the best of my knowledge.  But discrimination does occur in this wonderful melting pot called America, arguably the largest in the world.[2]

Israel is a "different kettle of fish."[3]  President Franklin D. Roosevelt and General George Marshall opposed its creation, and they were omniscient.  Arguably, it has been a "cancer" in the region, spawning wars and unspeakable brutality, as vicious as any in the history of mankind.

Decades ago, Benjamin Netanyahu morphed into his ancestors' Nazi oppressors; and he and the "Settlers" and rabid Zionists have wrought carnage on their non-Jewish neighbors without end.  They have advocated that Palestine be cleansed of Palestinians; and the world has reacted to their butchery.  Anti-Semitism has reached levels globally that have not been seen since World War II, with potentially much worse yet to come.

There are an estimated 2.4 billion followers of Christianity in the world; and 2 billion followers of Islam.  Contrariwise, there are an estimated 14.7 million followers of Judaism globally; and tragically, no Jew is safe anywhere.  This is Netanyahu’s "gift" to world Jewry.

He was hated by Ariel Sharon and the Rabins; and Leah Rabin blamed him for her husband Yitzhak's tragic assassination.  She believed that peace was impossible with Netanyahu at the helm of Israel's government; and her views were prescient and prophetic.  What goes around comes around.  Free speech is sacred, and must never be curtailed.[4]

For the White House press secretary to say that "the President has [Jews' backs]" is absurd.  Those of us who voted for Trump three times are appalled that he has supported the butcher Netanyahu and the Apartheid state of Israel.

Tragically, he has sought to curtail free speech on college campuses and elsewhere that condemns Israel's butchery in the strongest terms possible.  Is this reason enough not to support him?
