AI and Trust in the WFH Movement

Can employees be trusted to work from home? Read below to understand the dynamics and nuances in the modern workplace.

The sudden switch to working from home since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, has brought with it many benefits. For instance, employees report better job satisfaction and other positives which, in turn, give them more motivation to get their jobs done. They’re meeting deadlines with better workspace and fewer interruptions.

For employers, this means lower turnover rates, which helps reduce their overhead costs. Not only that, but the switch to remote has enabled them to cut other overhead costs as well. In fact, on average, employers are saving 22k per full time employee.

On the flipside, remote work has brought new challenges, such as a new lack of trust between employers and their employees. Many managers are simply uncomfortable with the newer methods of communication, which means things can easily get miscommunicated or under communicated, resulting in unmet expectations, and ultimately, micromanagement.

To resolve some of this, employers can utilize AI to remove the “human element” out of things such as timesheets, scheduling, and managing payroll apps. Some processes need no human touch.
