Roku, Next Big Tech Flop Or Opportunity?
Ayelet Wolf 1/18/2018 11:36:31 AM

Why is #Roku any better than #Google's Chromecast or #Amazon Fire TV Stick? I've never used Roku but the I have the other two. The Fire TV Stick was far superior in my opinion, with it's dedicated voice remote. Especially if you are deeply integrated into the Amazon Echo system.

But more recently Google seems to be winning out by having it's technology already integrated into far more TV sets. Why do you think Roku will win out in the end?

Jefferies Ups Facebook Target To $175 On Mobile Strength
Jason Stewart 1/24/2017 3:41:41 PM

The price target seems a bit too high for my taste. $FB's user growth has been slowing for quite some time in addition to an uptick in inactive accounts. These factors will play into their attractiveness to current and future advertisers. Their heavy reliance on advertising revenue also makes them vulnerable to seasonal swings similar to $GOOG. All in all, not a fan.

Why Is Verizon Buying Yahoo!, Again?
Dhaval Mohammed Somesh 8/1/2016 6:00:57 PM

It's interesting to see the fall of Yahoo $YHOO over the years because of boneheaded decisions. It comes back to bite them now as we see them sell for roughly $5 billion. I'll never forget in 1998 the chance they had to buy google $GOOG for $1 million.

PayPal: Up And Away

Hi @[Chris Lau](user:15438), I believe @[Joe Economy](user:5642) means that $AAPL and $GOOG have their own mobile pay systems which compete with Paypal (Apple Pay and Google Wallet). I don't think he was referring to the phone's operating system, though he can correct me if I'm wrong.

Google Plays Against The Name Game Rules
Duanne Johnson 8/14/2015 1:25:28 AM

I would have to agree and I have a great example. Look at Amazon. Amazon was a well establish name referring to a geographic reason. Yet these days, when anyone says Amazon, everyone immediately knows they are talking about the internet giant.

While I think Alphabet is a strange name, I don't think it will be an obstacle to Google in the slightest. If Joe Plumber were to use that as a company, the author would probably be right. But it won't be a problem for $GOOG at all.
