The cannabis industry is just beginning but it has already sparked a wave of innovation and is expected to grow to $146 billion by 2025. This potential has started a scramble as companies attempt to get a piece of this new market.

Some companies are resorting to huge purchases that expand their production capacity while others are busy with discovering new ways to improve their product offerings. On the other hand, there are many others that prefer striking partnerships and deals that would help solidify long-term growth. Here are just some of the biggest partnerships in the cannabis industry for now.

BioTrackTHC

Helix TCS, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary BioTrackTHC recently announced a partnership with Nevada-based Planet 13 Holdings Inc. BioTrackTHC will be the lead cannabis software provider to Planet 13 which is planning on launching the world’s largest cannabis entertainment complex in the Las Vegas Strip which will be 40,000 sq. ft. large featuring a 16,500 sq. ft. dispensary.

BioTrackTHC will be a great addition to Planet 13’s plans as it is the leading seed-to-sale cannabis software firm. For Planet 13’s complex, the company will guarantee smooth operations for nearly 50 registers in the area.

BioTrackTHC Chief Operations Officer Dr. Moe Afaneh says "due to the sheer size of the dispensary and its location, Planet 13 anticipates strong transaction volume with plans of adding more dispensaries in the near future in additional markets, such as southern California. We look forward to partnering with their team to help make it happen."

Choom Holdings Inc.

Vancouver-based Choom Holdings Inc. (OTCMKTS:CHOO) is run by a group of strong cannabis supporters. The founders of the company intimately understand Canada’s cannabis market and are prepared to make waves in one of the sectors that may be the most profitable, retail.

Choom provides retail opportunities to various cannabis brands that aim to reach premium clientele. The company has secured viable retail opportunities in 68 locations spread throughout three provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, top locations that are considered the best spots to open a cannabis store.

This achievement, combined with the company’s unique value proposition, caught the attention of one of Canada’s most well-known names, Aurora Cannabis. The company recently announced that it is planning to complete a $20 million investment in Choom. This comes with an option to buy up to 40% of Choom and follows an earlier investment worth $7 million. This deal makes Aurora Cannabis the lead investor in Choom.

The partnership began through Aurora Pro which Choom uses to offer a variety of services including cultivation, genetics, regulatory consultancy and market development to industry specialists. Aurora Pro gave growers a way to easily surpass the entry barriers that was in front of the strong cannabis market in Canada.

Taking into mind the famous ‘Choom gang’ in Hawaii, Choom aims to create not just cannabis stores but lifestyle centers that highlight the relaxed and fun vibe brought about by using cannabis or weed.

More than just the products, cannabis companies that are collaborating for various services is expected to bring the industry to another level (Source).

Green Flower

The U.S.’ number 1 trusted educational platform, Green Flower,  is partnering with Steve and Andrew DeAngelo from DeAngelo Productions. De Angelo Productions has been the certified leader when it comes to the production of entertaining and educational cannabis content, one of which is the popular web-based series called Ask Steve.

DeAngelo Productions is in charge of a new show that launched on Green Flower last Oct. 23. Through the show, people have the chance to ask any questions about cannabis to Steve DeAngelo. It will serve as a platform for a more direct learning about cannabis and the booming industry. DeAngelo Productions will take the lead weekly by tackling the key issues and personal concerns that people could have about cannabis.

The partnership between the two cannabis centric media companies will be vital in the growth of the industry. Now that it is growing unprecedented in the U.S. and Canada, it would be important for people to have a mainstream outlet which they could use as a way to learn about cannabis.

These three partnerships truly reflect where the cannabis industry is headed. Not only should consumers expect better brands, services and lifestyle choices, cannabis supporters can also be assured that the right information is available to those who wish to know more about the industry.
