The Short-Term Downtrend Continues Despite Sideways Movement
The short-term downtrend looks set to continue, although there have been two or three very strong sessions since the downtrend began. Even though the majority of stocks have declined, the market has held up well and has moved sideways since April 25.
Reviewing The Charts For Week Thru April 29
I am still a stock market bear, but I have to concede that the charts are bullish-looking at the moment. The downtrend has been broken and prices closed at the week's high above an important level.
The Not-So-Strong Short-Term Uptrend Continues
The short-term uptrend looks set to continue, although it hasn't been a strong one. Additionally, it appears as though the broader market hasn't really moved much.
The Market Won't Be Rushed Into The Next Short-Term Downtrend
The short-term uptrend appears set to continue. It didn't feel like an uptrend on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the market showed strength into the close on Thursday, which was a signal that it would not be rushed into the next short-term downtrend.
Finally A New Short-Term Uptrend
It seemed like it took forever, but we finally got a new short-term uptrend this week. Starting Wednesday, the market's short-term cycle transitioned into higher stock prices.
The Start Of A New Short-Term Uptrend?
The short-term downtrend looks set to continue, although the PMO has turned upwards again. With the PMO showing signs of perking up, the start of a new uptrend seems likely.
Too Much And Too Soon For A New Short-Term Uptrend
Last Saturday, it looked like the market was getting ready for its next push higher, but now it seems like I was expecting too much and too soon, as the market showed that it needed more time to flush out the excess optimism before moving higher.
Approaching A New Short-Term Uptrend
A hint at strength, combined with the favorable market action seen as we headed into the weekend, is making me optimistic that we are going to encounter a new rally.
Is It Too Late To Profit From The Short-Term Downtrend?
The short-term downtrend looks set to continue, and the PMO index has reached all the way to the bottom of its range. Meaning, if you're trying to profit from the market's short-term cycle, it's a bit late to be selling in order to protect profits.
A Short-Term Downtrend Or A Market Rest?
Last Saturday, it looked like the bullish percents were pointing lower, but they have mostly moved sideways. In other words, this short-term downtrend has been more of a market rest or consolidation of the gains rather than a pullback in prices.
A New Short-Term Downtrend Began On Thursday
A new short-term downtrend began on Thursday, Feb. 9. A number of the indicators that I follow are just beginning to roll over, indicating a new downtrend. However, there are still traders willing to step in and buy as prices pull back.
The Short-Term Uptrend Continues With More Upside To Come
The short-term uptrend appears set to continue, and this uptrend is now about one-month old. The previous uptrend lasted two months, so if the pattern repeats, there may be more upside to come.
A Shift In Focus
This past week's shift in focus went from the inflation-sensitive sectors such as miners to growth laggards such as technology. To me this says it is time to restrain from new purchases and focus on capturing partial profits and raising cash..
The Short-Term Uptrend Continues With Large Price Swings
The short-term uptrend looks set to continue, although with some large swings in price for the major indexes.
Last Week's Short-Term Uptrend Continues With Surprising Strength
The short-term uptrend that started Jan. 6 appears set to continue. This is a powerful uptrend that has caught people off guard. However, the PMO index is now at the top of the range, which means that the best time for purchases has passed.
A New Short-Term Uptrend May Have Started On Friday
It looks like a new short-term uptrend started on Friday, although the PMO index hasn't turned higher yet. So, we should consider the rally unconfirmed for now.
