Date: Saturday, January 26, 2019 5:53 AM EDT

Cannabidiol or “CBD” is the largest chemical compound found in the cannabis or hemp plant. It has a very wide range of therapeutic qualities.  It is extracted as an oil or a powder form from the hemp or cannabis plant. This oil or powder is then mixed with a gel or cream that can be rubbed over the skin or ingested orally.  Now companies are launching many different forms of CBD products to attract customers. They are available as Vape juice which can be used as Vapable CBD. Also available as Edible Soft Chews and gummies,  Tinctures, Pet Spray.

People have discovered the benefits of CBD oil but few still associate it with marijuana for getting high.  Not CBD, its THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, cousin compound extracted from cannabis plant which is when broken down by heat and ingested, it can create high.  Both THC and CBD is extracted from the same cannabis plant but only THC has psychoactive properties. A very little percentage of THC is also used in the CBD oil.

People are becoming aware of the health benefits CBD oil provides.  It’s a great drug for pain relief, reducing inflammation, anti-acne, and an antidepressant.

If you are going to buy this first time, it can be a bit challenging for you to decide which is the purest CBD oil and which brand you go for, as there are loads of products and brands available in the market.  Strength and concentration are two things you must consider while selecting CBD oil that is going to fulfill your needs.

Uses of Cannabidiol

Tips to know for buying CBD oil

Consider few following points to buy CBD oil.

Know the source:

You must know the source of CBD oil, whether it was organically farmed hemp and grown in the United States or not.

Check the actual amount of CBD

Bottles are labeled with “1000mg Hemp Extract” or “1000mg CBD Oil”, it means 1000mg of CBD is there in the bottle.  Many companies do not label the actual amount on their products.

The concentration of CBD in the product

Look out for the concentration of CBD in the product, it varies from product to product.  Ranges from 250mg per fl oz to 1000mg per fl oz.

THC should be less than 0.3%

Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is Cannabinoid cousin of CBD that has a psychoactive effect and causes high.  You must look out for CBD oil with less than 0.3% THC level. You can be sure by the concentration of THC that doesn't have psychoactive properties.  Few companies like SavageCBD sell products that are completely THC free. They provide a variety of CBDs with different concentration of THC.

Confirm 3rd Party Lab Results

To ensure the purest form of CBD looks for the results of products tested in 3rd party labs accredited with ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

Basic test results you must look for are:

  • Cannabinoid Potency

  • Residual Solvents

  • Foreign Matter

  • Bacteria & Fungus

  • Pesticides

  • Heavy Metals

Look for CO2 extracted method CBDs

This is an expensive method of extracting CBD where carbon dioxide is used under high pressure and extremely low temperature to extract CBD in its purest form.  This method involves costly equipment and high expertise, but purity guaranteed.

Buy legally sold CBD products

This supplements industry is full of fake claims, fraudsters, and poor quality products.  Use your senses to choose the transparent one. Many companies claim that their products can treat any medical condition or symptoms, doing so is a violation of the FDA’s DSHEA guidelines.

Look out for Contact Details over the label

Many companies with this kind of products are impossible to reach.  Make sure at least a contact number is there on the label.

Don’t go for cheap products

Last but not least don’t get attracted to the cheaper CBDs in the market.  Production of pure CBD is not at all cheap. If something is cheap then it must be low in its quality as well.

Bottom Line:

It’s not a drug or some dangerous chemical, it’s just a natural reinforcement that nature offered us.  Look out for few things listed above and get the best quality CBD.
