I found an error in my earlier numbers relating to the Global 2000 for 2021 so i deleted my previous post and am now providing the correct numbers.
The total market value of the Global 2000 for 2021 is $79.7 Trillion (an increase of 46.8% over the 2020 numbers). Again, Forbes said that they feel this is due to investors decisions to put money in the market as interest rates moved close to zero. This is probably true. The market place was the only real place an investor could make money.
The new table is relatively the same from my mistaken earlier one, but i did still want to correct the information. It still shows the domination of the United States, but not quite to the degree i showed in my earlier table. Relative percentages are of total global 2000 market value for each year. The difference represents the relative change from 2020 and 2021.
Association marketvalue 2021 mktetvalue 2020 relative pct 2021 relative pct 2020 difference
United States $39.1 Trillion $25.9 Trillion 49.1% 47.7% + 1,4%
Europe $14.5 Trillion $10.2 Trillion 18.2% 18.9% - 0.7%
China $10.2 Trillion $ 7.0 Trillion 12.8% 12.9% - 0.2%
Other Asia $ 8.8 Trillion $ 6.0 Trillion 11.0% 11.0% 0.0%
Again, the numbers show the United States growing in market value relevance in worldly or globanomic terms. China's market value is about one-fourth that of the United States.
I am in the process of breaking these numbers down further by business sector and industry, but those numbers will come later. I am also working on the market return for the different countries and business groups, but i need to update the sector and industry data for the companies that are new to the 2021 list. There are about 200 new companies, replacing those that fell from the list this past year. Of course, most of these have rather small market values.
