It’s going to take a lot of advanced technology to stay ahead of the curve against today’s cybersecurity and ransomware threats. It seems that we don’t get a break in the media hearing about the next company that’s a link in a chain of events that end up being multi million dollar ransomware payouts. And a lot of the time, it starts with phishing emails, just a simple click on something that a user almost didn’t even click on may be the attack vector that the cyber criminal was looking for to get into the system. Once in, they may lay siege for a while, looking for even more network vulnerabilities. Finally, they encrypt the company’s files making them unusable unless the ransom is paid, often in Bitcoin.
