Money Funds and Recoveries

Both institutional and retail money funds tend to move inversely to the SPX. The recovery from both the 2000-2002, and 2008 bear markets involved a decrease in the money fund holdings.  Since money fund holdings are increasing dramatically, odds are we are not yet in the recovery phase.
