The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI), Nasdaq Composite (IXIC), and S&P 500 Index (SPX) are all firmly higher at midday, as investors digest what the U.S.' involvement in Israel's war against Iran will mean for markets. The gains follow President Donald Trump’s Saturday announcement that the U.S. bombed three nuclear sites in Iran.

Despite an initial spike in oil prices -- and news that the Iranian parliament approved the closure of the key crude passage, the Strait of Hormuz -- oil futures moved into the red. July dated West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is down 1.2% at $72.93, at last check. 

Insurance name Aflac Inc (NYSE: AFL) is popular in the options pits today, with 11,000 calls and 11,000 puts across the tape so far. This represents 25 times the average intraday options volume, with some of the most popular contracts the September 110 call and December 115 call. AFL has undergone scrutiny following a cyberattack last week, the third insurance breach this month. AFL is clinging to its year-to-date breakeven mark and was last seen up 0.4% at $103.78.

Virtual healthcare provider Teladoc Health Inc (NYSE: TDOC) is one of the best performers on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today, last seen up 6% at $7.32 eyeing its highest close since early June. While the catalyst for today's pop remains unclear, the jump is another failed attempt to break out of its $7.50 level. TDOC has shed 18% so far in 2025.

Pacing as one of the worst stocks on the NYSE today is Macy's Inc. (NYSE: M), down 4% to trade at $10.61 at last check. The shares look to be extending last week's multi-day drop, now eyeing its seventh loss in eight sessions. Acting as resistance this calendar year has been the descending 80-day moving average.
